THE TEAM BEHIND OUR TEAMS
Academy Technical Director
Warren Moon is no stranger to Brisbane Roar FC. Being one of the club’s inaugural Hyundai A-League players back in 2005, Warren has since established himself as one of the best coaches in Queensland. Having most recently won back to back NPL Queensland Premierships with Lions FC, Warren’s success at a coaching level has brought him back to The Brisbane Roar in his role as First Team Head Coach as well as Technical Director of the Academy.
Warren places a high importance on the environment of players and seeks to make the Brisbane Roar Academy the leading innovator in youth development within the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League.
Academy Operations manager
Luca joins Brisbane Roar Academy in the role of as Academy operations manager following his playing and coaching experiences in Italy, before moving to Australia in 2013. Developing into the system first in Sydney and since January 2018 in Brisbane. During his 2 years period in QLD Luca worked at Brisbane City FC covering both coaching and management roles. On the field he has been involved within SAP and NPL programs, winning two back to back premierships with U18 and U20 in his time at City. This season he will be working alongside our NYL Head Coach Chris Grossman in our NPL / NYL set up.
Luca’s managerial experience in business development is key in implementing our strategic plan in addition to day to day operational duties in the Academy, working closely with the Academy General Manager, Warren Moon. Luca is passionate and eager to grow our BRFC brand and build the foundations of our new look Academy across QLD and NNSW in multiple areas of football development.
NPL/nyl Head Coach
Chris has been at the club for a number of years now and has progressed through the academy ranks as a coach showing his qualities as a coach and an educator of young talent. He has a high work rate, hunger & desire to improve players and in particular, Queensland kids.
Chris was an easy appointment, and no one at the club deserves this role more, given how hard he works to improve his teams and players. It’s exciting times for our club but especially Chris who will now head the academy with this coaching appointment.
NPL u20 Head Coach
Kerwin is another coach well known in local circles for a lot of great work he has done in the Junior space. A coach who has very high standards and demands the best from his players. He understands what is expected in our academy having had a previous stint with the club working as an assistant in our NYL and NPL program.
Kerwin cares and he wants to see young Queensland players progress all the way to the first team and he will be working very hard to see this happen.
Kerwin was an obvious choice given his previous affiliation with the club and with how he shares the same ideals and beliefs of myself and everyone else involved in trying to push local talent to be better players and people.
NPL U18 Head Coach
Graham is very well known in Queensland circles for his exploits as one of the best players in the local league over a number of years. He has an unbelievably positive outlook on life and great passion for pushing players on to the next level. He is an outstanding coach in his own right having experienced NPL junior coaching as well as senior football and also time as TD of Redlands united. We are very lucky to have Graham in our program.
Not just his ability as a coach which is outstanding but the way he carries himself and the positivity he exudes around the place makes players want to be better in all aspects of what they do.
