ACADEMY General Manager
Academy operations manager
“Chris” has been at the club for a number of years now and has progressed through the academy ranks as a coach showing his qualities as a coach and an educator of young talent. He has a work rate, hunger & desire to improve players and good Queensland talent in particular.
“Chris” was an easy appointment for me and no one at the club deserves this role more given how hard he works to improve his teams and players. It’s exciting times for our club but especially Chris will now head the academy with this coaching appointment.
“Kerwin” is another coach well known in local circles for a lot of great work he has done in Junior space, a coach who also has very high standards and demands the best from his players. He understands the what is expected in our academy having had a previous stint with the club working as an assistant in our NYL and NPL program. Kerwin cares and he wants to see young Queensland players progress all the way to the first team and he will be working very hard to see this happen.
“Kerwin” for me was an obvious choice given his previous affiliation with the club and with how he shares the same ideals and beliefs of myself and everyone else involved in trying to push local talent to be better player and people.
“Graham” Is very well known in Qld circles for his exploits as one of the best players in local league over a number of years. He has an unbelievably positive outlook on life and great passion for pushing players on to the next level. He is an outstanding coach in his own right having experienced NPL junior coaching as well as senior football and also time as TD of Redlands united. We are very lucky to have Graham in our program.
“Graham” was one of the first people I called when I took this role on knowing what he could bring to this academy. Not just his ability as a coach which is outstanding but the way he carries himself and the positivity he exudes around the place makes players want to be better in all aspects of what they do.
We at Brisbane Roar are very excited to have someone like "Pouria" on our coaching staff. A highly credentialled coach who also has had the experience of working in Iran Professionally and also with Marcello Lippi in China. "Pouria" has extensive knowledge of football in Qld working across senior football in the NPL but also in development football working in the GPS school System for many years also. "Pouria" is not only well credentialled in football as he also has a PhD in Leadership in professional sports teams and holds masters degrees in Philosophy(Applied Psychology in sports), Engineering & Industrial Engineering. We look forward having Pouria coach our U16 team for the coming season.
“Francesco” is not only someone who has played at the very highest level with AC Milan and various other Serie a clubs but he is someone that moved to our shores a decade ago and more recently has fallen in love with the Qld as his home state and is so passionate about raising the standard of talent in our programs.
“Francesco is a great person to have in our program as he has played at the highest level and coached now for many years with great success in development football. I love his worth ethic and passion but most importantly I love how humble he is and it’s a characteristic we strive to see not just in our coaches but also the young men in our academy.
“Paul” has a great track record of working with the best kids in the state in this age group through Queensland state programs and is someone who demands the very best of his players. Another passionate coach about developing Queensland talent our U14 playing group is in good hands.
“Paul has a great way with the teams he coaches and he knows where to progress them in this age group and where they need to be when they move on to the age group above. He holds himself and his team to high standards which align perfectly with what we are doing at Brisbane roar”
“John” has been coaching in Qld for over 30 years now in both Junior and senior football. He is widely regarded by many as one of the best developers of talent we have in the state and his passion and desire to improve the players in our program is a real asset to the academy.
“John is someone I admire and respect having been coached myself by him and knowing how he cares for the development of players in this state. I know we have a coach will give all he has to provide the right education and developing for our young men entering the academy in the U13 age group.”
